The List

On the 23rd of September of this year I will turn 21! I’ve seen a lot of people post up lists of things to in a certain year of their life and I would like to do the same here. However, since this is a food blog I thought rather than only put up my aspirations for the year ahead (because really who wants to read those?!) I would also make a list of 21 things I want to cook while I’m 21.

First of all the cooking list!
  1. Croissants
  2. Duck a l’orange
  3. Paté
  4. Candy hearts

  18. A cake with more than two layers

And now my aspirations for this year

  1. Get better. Work to make myself totally healthy and happy again.

  3. Read two books at a time, a non-fiction and a fiction.
  4. Finish my units for university.
  5. Get a part time job.

  11. Get my 3 and 5 a day.
  12. Learn how to make my hair not frizz into an unmanageable mess.
  13. Properly understand how to eat a gluten free diet.
  14. Write down all of the recipes that I have created myself.
  15. Create a Kiva account and start lending money.
  16. Do the projects from my Craft Magazines.
  17. Build up my stamina until I can run all the way around Lake Monger. (4.37km)
  18. Learn how to crochet.
  19. Learn how to play the piano.

I’ll let you know how I get on with these lists periodically through the year. I’m excited to get started with it all!

I enjoy these lists! You need to invite me over when you make duck a l’orange, kay? :D

I love that you’re starring in a play on your birthday, that is FABULOUS.

OMG frizzy unmanageable mess hair is my life. I wish I had some miracle cure to bestow upon you but it’s really just a matter of experimenting with products until you find something that works. Luckily, I LOVE spending my hard earned money on useless crap so it’s worked for me :P I can provide some rambling semi-expertise if you like.

The Low GI diet is a giant, fussy pain. You have to be prepared to basically cook everything yourself and it can get frustrating when you don’t have the time and you just want a quick lunch. I have a great book with guidelines and recipies if you want to borrow it. It’s actually a combined Low GI/Gluten free book, and I was so excited to find it because the two are nearly impossible to combine! I’ve got some print outs and stuff my specialist gave me last year if you want an easy overview. Let me know!

And good luck with your lists!

I will definitely invite you over for duck!

IKR. It’s gonna be the most exciting day ever. I’ll probably get over tired and need a nap at some point. :P

Any help you might be able to offer is appreciated. I want to experiment with products too but I’m not even sure where to start!

I have a Low GI book which I need to read through. We should discuss it though, it would probably be more helpful to have someone explain it to me. I don’t need to be totally low GI but the doctor said it might help me feel less horrible so it’s worth a shot.

  3. [...] I loved this challenge! Doughnuts are one of the things I promised myself I would make this year in this list, so when I saw they were the challenge for the month directly after making the list I was [...]
